Six Nations Public Works made a presentation on the Transportation and Roads Needs Study on Wednesday.  The presentation was updating the community on what they thought the top priority’s should be moving forward.

Public Works Director Michael Montour introduced the presentation and was joined by Technical Services Technologist Vince Longboat and SNEC CEO Darrin Jamieson.

One of the top priorities identified by the community was roads.

The results were presented by Henry Centen, the senior transportation engineer, with Keegan Burnside Ltd.

There were three areas the Transportation part of the study focused on in the community: Chiefswood Road, Sixth Line and Chiefswood Road as well as Sixth Line and Tuscarora Roads.

The study focused on a future time line of 2031 to 2041 for this study and how transportation would impact the community.

CKRZ has learned that Public Works will be engaging the community in a survey sometime in the near future as they have received funding for this purpose.

However, no date was given at this time.

If you would like to learn more or see the presentation, visit the SNEC Facebook page.
