A national town-hall series on COVID-19 information from a First Nations perspective has just launched its third season.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March last year, the First Nations Health Managers Association has held weekly town halls with health professionals who identify as members of First Nations. According to CEO Marion Crowe, the town halls are an opportunity for all residents of Turtle Island to receive credible information from a source they can trust.

The town halls are a chance for listeners to acquire COVID-19 information from health professionals who "look like them" and "sound like them" said Crowe.

The town halls cover all aspects of COVID-19, from social distancing guidelines to land sovereignty. Today's town hall will be about vaccinations and common questions about the vaccine.

The town halls run every Thursday 1-2 p.m. EST and can be streamed from the First Nations Health Managers Association's Facebook page.
