After a two-year absence, La Fondation au Diapason is hosting the 16th edition of its annual golf tournament Tournoi de golf Au Diapason. The foundation supports La Maison au Diapason (La Maison), who provides palliative and psychological care services to people at the end of life and their families in the Brome-Missiquoi and Haute-Yamaska regions. Taking place at Club de Golf Cowansville and Club de golf Château-Bromont, the golf tournament is one of its largest fundraising events to support La Maison’s operation budget and to provide quality care to its patients.

“We are very excited to have this edition of the tournament. We haven’t had a tournament since August of 2019 so, we are really looking forward to seeing some old friends, and new faces, out on the golf course. It’s going to be a great day,” said Charlotte Evans, executive director of La Maison, La Fondation au Diapason, and the L’Équipe d’accompagnement.

Evans described the event as an important one for the Diapason.

“I think it helps us to raise a significant amount of money. We are aiming at $78,000 in terms of a net fundraising goal. (…) It also allows us to connect with members of the community, people who have supported us year after year, and new supporters,” explained Evans. “Really just helping us to get to know them, to increase the awareness about what we do at Diapason, and hopefully create some long-lasting partnerships.”

With a significant operations cost, fundraising is essential for La Maison.

“All the money that we raise through the foundation gets redirected to La Maison. It helps us purchase new equipment, to run the unit, to purchase food for the patients, to make sure that we are really providing the best care and services,” mentioned Evans.

Those interested in participating can sign up individually or in teams to play rounds of golf at Club de Golf Cowansville or at the Club de golf Château-Bromont. It will be followed by a special gathering at the golf club in Cowansville.

“At the end of the day, there will be a cocktail served at the Cowansville golf club and there will be a nice supper following that event. (…) There will be two auctions at the end of the evening. There will be a silent auction as well as a live auction,” noted Evans.

The Tournoi de golf Au Diapason will be taking place on August 30. Details for the event and registration can be found on Au Diapason’s website.
