British Columbia's Provincial Health Officer says lock downs and restrictions may be coming, if the province's COVID-19 case counts keep rising.  BC set a new record of 274 new cases on Thursday, which followed an all-time high of 203 cases on Wednesday.

Dr. Bonnie Henry says most of the new infections are the result of large gatherings like weddings and funerals, where people have not been following COVID-19 safety plans.

Henry is promising stepped up enforcement by WorkSafe BC and health inspectors.  There are currently 1,920 active cases of the virus in BC and close to 4500 people have been told to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms.
