Local Six Nations Entrepreneur and artist Montana (Monty) Adams' received big recognition when his Every Child Matters t-shirt design was featured at the Toronto Blue Jays game on the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation on September 30 at the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto.
Adams is part owner of the Adams family boutique which is a tattoo studio and an artisan & lifestyle boutique. He was asked by the Survivors’ Secretariat to create a design which then was forwarded to the Toronto Blue Jays organization who took interest in supporting the cause.
The Survivors’ Secretariat was established in 2021 to organize and support efforts to uncover, document and share the truth about what happened at the Mohawk Institute Residential School. The Mohawk Institute Residential School was a Canadian Indian residential school in Brantford Ontario which operated from 1831 to June 27, 1970.
