This weekend, Surrey Art Gallery will be hosting its Winter Opening that features art exhibition Through the Lattice with various interpretations of the lived environment, space and place.

Rhys Edwards, an assistant curator, is putting the exhibit together to showcase how each contributing artist demonstrates this concept through painting, sculpture, mixed media and more. According to a recent press release, Edwards said the topic of where and how we inhabit space has been a subject of intense discussion as of late.

We spoke to exhibiting artists Parvin Peivandi and Alex Morrison about their involvement with the exhibit and how their art depicts this concept.

The Winter Opening and artist panel will take place on Saturday, Jan. 21, with Peivandi, Morrison, Robert Young, and curator Rhys Edwards. The event will also feature Cindy Mochizuki's Autumn Strawberry: A dance film and Keerat Kaur's Panjabi Garden.

Through the Lattice will run until March 26.
