“Le Sentier Féerique,” aka the "fairy trail," and magic lanterns in Coldbrook Park were a huge success.

The fairy trail was a new edition to the Town of Knowlton’s holiday festivities and, based on the outstanding feedback from residents and visitors, it is here to stay.

“During the month of December and the holidays, unbelievable the amount of people. Sometimes, yes, there were a lot, and some wore face masks, some didn’t, but just the same,” stated Richard Burcombe, mayor of Brome Lake.

Located on the pathway behind Star Café, connecting Lakeside to Maple, the trail's trees are decorated with ornaments and lights.

A handful of the trees were transformed into fairy homes. One of the trees is filled with decorated milk cartons crafted by the local elementary students.

Visitors wrote pleasant comments thanking the volunteers and organizers for their hard work to bring some joy into town.

The fate of Le Sentier Féerique for this year is unknown. If you would like to take advantage of the work of local crafters, the path lights up at 5 p.m. and stays lit until morning.

“It gave something else special to this, during this COVID, which, I guess, how can you say it, Town of Brome Lake is known for that,” said Burcombe.
