The lasting effect of the Abbotsford floods

Months later, communities are still reeling from the impacts of the flooding of the Fraser River.

Bruce Banman, MLA of Abbotsford South, spoke with CIVL on the historic November flooding. Banman says people in the Fraser Valley are still in the recovery stage and have moved back to areas that were affected. This being said, many properties have been damaged, so the people who are moving back need to repair their houses or barns (if they own a farm).

“Thankfully, we have many volunteers, including mechanics that are attempting to save machinery that has been ruined by the water," says Banman.
