Judyth Weaver is a long time, part-time resident of Cortes Island, who holds a PhD in Reichian Psychology, and teaches at Hollyhock Learning Centre.

She has set up learning programs in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Boulder, Colorado, and worked as a teacher of T’ai Chi Ch’uan for 54 years. When asked about her journey in discovering the range of modalities she specializes in, she replied, “everything that moved, I studied.”

The teacher of teachers carried on her programming to the Cold Mountain Institute, which is now known as Hollyhock Learning Centre on the island. This October, she will offer a course called “Sensory Awareness” which she explains, isn’t teaching at all,

“I'm not teaching anything: what I do is remind people to pay attention to themselves and the world,” Weaver said.

Weaver is offering several opportunities on Cortes including T’ai Chi Ch’uan at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12 at Mansons Hall. This is the last class for the season, and it's being offered through the Cortes Island Seniors Society (CISS). Beginning July 15, she is offering a week-long workshop, which still has availability. If you would like to sign up or learn more about Weaver’s programs visit her website.
