On today's Tantramar Report:

CFTA 107.9FM radio in Amherst is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this week. On July 21, at exactly 1:07 p.m., CFTA celebrated its ten year anniversary by paying Annie Murray’s, “Snowbird,” the very first song the station ever played. The station has modest beginnings, with a small dedicated crew broadcasting from the back of GMC van, and is still going strong. Long-time member and current station director "Foxtrot" Lisa Emery shares her favourite memories of CFTA.

There is one new case of COVID-19 in New Brunswick. The one new COVID-19 case in the province is a person in their 60s in the Fredericton region. According to the government press release, the case is related to travel. The release did not specify whether the travel took place in Atlantic Canada or out of Atlantic Canada. There were no new recoveries, but COVID-19 wings remain empty in New Brunswick hospitals.

The province has vaccinated just under 62 per cent of the eligible population with two doses with less than two weeks to go before the New Brunswick Day deadline. The deadline is creeping closer and closer, and the province is 13 per cent away with less than two weeks to go before Aug. 2. Dr. Jennifer Russell says that vaccines “have never been easier in our province than it is right now.”

Pharmacist Charles Beaver is putting out a call for anyone in the area who needs a COVID-19 vaccine. The pharmacy has administered over 5,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, and is still looking to do more. Beaver sent out a mass email to everyone on the Corner Drug’s vaccine mail list on Wednesday, which encouraged all looking for a shot to register online or give them a call.
