Lin Chen, is offering a four-part series of classes at Smelt Bay Provincial Park over the next two weeks. On Wednesday and Friday mornings, 9am-10am, Tai Chi will take place near the volleyball court. Chen explained how gentle the practice is for seniors, or anyone with mobility issues. The low-impact nature of the activity allows even people with bone issues to benefit.

Placing the class outside is intentional, as Chen explains how Tai Chi effects people.

“It really connects our own energy with nature’s energy, so practicing outside is really beneficial.”

Chen has been practicing Tai Chi since she was a child.

“When I first started I was a kid and my grandparents were practicing. People in China practice in the park in the morning-outdoors.”

The classes are available to all ages and abilities. To learn more about class costs and general information, contact@luminawellbeing.com .
