earlier this week, CKRZ reported on the Survivor’s Secretariat public outdoor open house celebration at their location on Fourth Line Road on Six Nations territory.

At the event, the secretariat provided the community with an update and year in review of the secretariat’s work since it was established in July 2021.

In addition, the secretariat was also introducing their returning Executive Lead Laura Arndt.

Part of Ardnt’s address concerned the impact of residential schools beyond the physical boundaries of the First Nations communities they affected.

The Survivor’s Secretariat was established to organize and support efforts that would uncover, document and share the truth about what happened at the Mohawk Institute during its 136 years of operation.
