St. Paul Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) are supporting the community this winter with the Snow Angels program.

The purpose of the Snow Angels, which has been serving the community for the past 8 years, is to help those who have a hard time moving around shovel their driveways and walkways.

Brenda Billo, St. Paul FCSS program and administration assistant, said that the program aims to help those who are "seniors or have a disability of some kind" remove snow from their properties to "prevent falls."

A sign will be provided to those who need a Snow Angel, so they can get the help that they need. This will help prevent trips and falls, emergency vehicles being blocked by snow build up, and help those who are vulnerable to the cold stay in the warmth of their homes.

Every few weeks during Alberta winters, big snowfalls roll in. Billo says that the community of St. Paul is always there to answer to those who need help, even outside of the Snow Angels. From the 4H Group, to the St. Paul Junior B Canadiens, the whole community has their shovels at the ready for those who need a helping hand.

For those who want to become a Snow Angel, or those looking for a Snow Angel in St. Paul, Billo said you can pop by the FCSS office, or call them at 780-645-5311.

More information on the program can be found on the St. Paul FCSS website.
