The Smithers District Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for Business & Community Excellence.

The awards are for business that operated online, from home, and in-person across the Bulkley Valley this year. The awards are an opportunity to recognize excellence and the hardworking businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profit service groups who provide exceptional community services in our region, according to the organization.

Sheena Miller, the chamber executive director, is asking the public to take the time to fill out the online form and celebrate the excellent local business the Bulkley Valley has to offer.

"After a couple of rough years of pandemic living this [the awards] are a great opportunity to excite the public and show our businesses some love," she said in an interview with CICK News.

The week of October 17-21 is also small business week in Smithers: the community is celebrating its favourite local businesses, not-for-profits and community members.
