When you've grown up in a small town, you yearn to get out and experience the rest of the world and what it has to offer. When Sam Raven came back to Smithers, BC, her small hometown, she wanted to grow with her family and set roots.

Now that those roots have set, Sam is taking her love for the north further and running for town council.

The Smithers by-election is Oct. 17 and CICK News is meeting all the candidates for council and mayor.
