Smithers has officially been dumped on with snow this past week and boy, are these Smithereens happy. But with so many closures (and new travel restrictions encouraged by BC Premier Horgan), one worries about the parts of life Smithereens move to Smithers for.

Worry not, Smithereens, the Bulkley Valley Cross Country Ski Club has announced the Nordic Centre is open for business and ready for skiers young and old. Check out the Bulkley Valley Ski Club website for more information about COVID-19 safety protocols and updates for the season.

And a study has been conducted by Dr. Charles Menzies, professor of Anthropology at UBC. He is researching the paths created by the mati of the Gitxaaɫa Nation, a rare species of island mountain goats that paved the tread travelled by the Gitxaaɫa a century earlier.

A short documentary was made, which can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/470287517
