SKETCH Toronto is reaching out to those in need for art supplies, meal kits and harm reduction kits in the downtown core this week until April 7.

The city-based organisation is dedicated to helping the unhoused and marginalized youth through the arts.

While it is known for its performances and online events amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization is hoping to build a deeper sense of community with residents with restrictions still active.

Along with the essentials like the meals and harm reduction kits, the organization is hoping the art supplies will help residents find creative wellness, especially as isolation, unemployment and struggles for affordable housing continue across Toronto.

Through their partners, SKETCH has been able to use local produce for the meals and provide contacts and resources for those requiring medical and legal aid.

Jess Devitt and Quina Gutierez of SKETCH join CJRU today to its development of the current initiative and future plans for the organization, including the potential for more physical spaces.

Pickups for meal kits, art supplies and harm reduction kits are available until April 7.
