The Pontiac Maisons des jeunes is hosting a series of weekly skateboarding workshops this fall at the skatepark behind their facility in Campbell’s Bay, located at 4 Patterson Street. MDJ coordinator Desiree Tremblay Giroux said that due to the success of the workshop they hosted in the summer, they decided to bring it back on Wednesday evenings for the next eight weeks.

The workshops are hosted by an experienced teacher from Colony Skateshop and School in Pembroke, and participants from all skill levels can participate. Though the workshop is targeted at youth between 8 and 17 years old, Tremblay Giroux said that parents can try and skate along with their kids. Attendees are invited to bring their own helmets and boards, but the MDJ has some equipment available for people to borrow.

The workshops are limited to 15 participants, and registration is required. For more information contact Desiree at 819 209 7626 or email mdjdesiree@gmail.com.
