A heightened police presence on Six Nations was noticeable this week as police continue investigating the case of missing Hagersville woman Amber Ellis.

Ellis was reported missing on March 8, 2021 by her mother and she was last seen near the end of February 2021 on Six Nations of the Grand River.

On June 6, Six Nations Police (SN Police) informed the community that there would be an increased presence of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers that will last several days as the investigation continues.

A large number of OPP vehicles and officers could be seen at 3698 Sixth Line Rd. throughout the day on Wednesday, but police say there is no threat to public safety. SN Police says its members will be present in the area for assistance to community members.

OPP investigators have said that they believe there are witnesses who have information about Ellis’ disappearance who have not yet come forward.

Prior to her disappearance,  Ellis lived at a residence in Hagersville. She has ties to the Brantford, Cambridge, Hamilton and Norfolk County areas. She is 5'9, and weighs 120 lbs with a thin build and she also has long dark hair and brown eyes.

Police were unavailable for further comment to CJKS and said no additional information will be provided as the investigation is still ongoing.
