Six Nations Police arrested a 17-year-old Ohsweken resident following a robbery at a Six Nations business today where two individuals attempted to commit the crime with a firearm.
In a statement May 4, Six Nations Police say that at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, two suspects entered a business on Highway 54 outside of Ohsweken and demanded money. One of the suspects brandished an object that appeared to be a firearm. The suspects fled on foot after attempting to rob the business, but nothing of monetary value was taken.
Six Nations Police, Brant County Ontario Provincial Police K-9 and Emergency Response Team all responded to the investigation.
Police say they arrived on scene and recovered the alleged firearm, confirming that one suspect had been taken into custody. The search for the second suspect continues.
As a result, a 17-year-old Ohsweken resident was arrested and charged with robbery and using an imitation firearm while committing the offence. The suspect was also charged with two counts of breaching probation contrary to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
