A Six Nations poet and media producer's play is being shown at a festival in New York City this month.

January Rogers' Blood Sport recently had a reading on Oct.1 at the Rattlestick Theater in the west village New York City, as part of the Northeastern Native Arts Festival.

The play deals with the topic of Indigenous identity and “pretend-ians.”

Using a game show as the basis for her play, Rogers says pretend Indians, or "pretend-ians," is having a “moment.” Rogers is the artist who also brought the community the play NDN’s on the Airways.

Blood Sport will be having a second reading in Canada on Nov. 4 in Hamilton at 7:30 p.m.
