The Six Nations Grand River Economic Development Trust has announced it's shortlist of applicants for the $2.5 million dollars available through the Six Nations of the Grand River Economic Development Trust (EDT) for community investment in 2023.
This is the third largest amount to be released since the inception of the Six Nations of the Grand River Economic Development Corporation (SNGRDC) in 2015.
The EDT received eight applications with a total ask of $2,589,300.95 and has released the shortlisted applications which includes two general applications and three grassroots applications.
The distribution of funding will be decided following the review and scoring by the Board of Trustees as well as applicant presentations.
The shortlist presentations will take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 between 10 a.m. and noon in the SNGRDC Boardroom.
Successful recipients will be notified by Nov. 18 and must utilize funding between Jan. 1 to Dec. 1, 2023. The shortlisting process consists of applications that are deemed complete and within the scope of the 2023 EDT guidelines but warrant further evaluation by the Economic Development Trustees.
“Shortlist presentations are an important step in the application process which gives the Trustees a clear, more wholesome picture of proposed projects while allowing for two-way conversations with the applicants and trustees,” said Alaina VanEvery, Board of Trustees Chair for the EDT.
The EDT has invested over $17 million since 2016, funding which is made possible through annual distributions of surplus profits by the SNGRDC.
