Writer, speaker and researcher Eileen Delehanty Pearkes will be performing her show Two Worlds, One Heart at the Capitol Theatre in Nelson on November 14th.

The show comes at a timely moment in Sinixt history. Their new confederacy office recently opened in Nelson.

Delhanty Pearkes is well known for her work researching the Sinixt people and the Columbia River Region. She has written several books on the region, including The Geography of Memory, which details the history of the transboundary Sinixt tribe.

While she is not Sinixt herself, she is an ally to the Sinixt people. This is what she means with the title Two Worlds, One Heart. She says, “it’s very important for them to have their own voice but we can have a voice too, in support of their voice.”

Entry to the show is by donation. It begins at 7:30 PM.
