The Rural Empowered Drug Users Network (REDUN) emphasized the need for a safe inhalation site in Nelson at the Canadian Drug Policy Coalition webinar yesterday on the drug crisis in the Kootenays.

The event titled Bridging Community Connections in Nelson: Human Rights and Harm Reduction was done in partnership with several local organizations: REDUN, ANKORS and the Nelson Fentanyl Taskforce

It featured a panel discussion on human rights, harm reduction, overdose prevention services, and the role of low-barrier public healthcare in preventing overdose fatalities.

Speakers at the discussion included Beeta Senedjani of the Canadian Drug Policy Coalition, Tiffany Teal of REDUN and Zoey Dodd of the Toronto Overdose Prevention Society.
