A general survey on public satisfaction by the Victoria Police Department (VicPD) on its website says police rating has gone down by two per cent.
This year’s survey recorded a result of 86 per cent on public satisfaction, a slight drop when compared with the surveys administered in 2014 and 2017, which both polled 88 per cent.
VicPD Chief Const. Del Manak says the survey aims to ensure delivery of the best possible policing service to the communities of Victoria and Esquimalt.
`"I would like to thank all of the survey respondents who take the time to share their thoughts on their public safety priorities and concerns, how we are doing as a police department, and how we can be better," Manak said.
"The VicPD Senior Leadership Team looks forward to exploring how we can implement this feedback for the benefit of our communities," Manak pledged.
The website states that the total records in survey is 969, while the total number of records for this query is 619 with 356 "females," 245 "males" and 13 "other" as respondents. Five people refrained.
