Over the weekend, the Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery opened a new show called Sacred Dreamscapes. The artists behind the exhibit, Kira MacDuffee and Majie Lavergne, are also psychotherapists.
“We'll be working with using some of our knowledge and skills from that world to interact with the expressive and we'll use the art as a way to explore our inner world,'' MacDuffee says.
Lavergne breaks down his series, explaining what audiences can expect.
“In each of these abstract paintings, you can find the word 'love'...I deconstructed through lines or circles and the ‘E’ of love always ends up at the bottom of each painting, thus creating a sense of consistency. Thus, love always falls back on its feet.”
During the second week of the show, there will be an immersive event: the Old Schoolhouse will host this experience on July 22, at 7 p.m.
“We'll be giving an opportunity to explore the community as we go into some self inquiry,” MacDuffee said, painting a picture of the evening ahead.
