Prince Edward County Committee of the Whole approved of a staff report and draft bylaws which establish "Visit the County" as the county’s premier Destination Marketing Organization for tourism marketing on June 9.

Furthermore, Stay PEC, a tourism promotion organization formed by local accommodators, will be recognized as an "Eligible Entity" for the purposes of receiving levied Municipal Accommodations Tax funding, in recognition of their previous beneficiary status under the previous destination marketing regulatory regime. This was decided because of the desire to avoid a legal challenge by Stay PEC, as well as hopes that it and "Visit the County" will more closely integrate in the near future.
