Prince Edward County roads again made CAA’s annual Ontario's Worst Roads list, with County Road 49 retaining its place on the list, alongside the new inclusion of Barker Street in Picton.

When asked about the state of these roads and future plans to repair them, Mayor Steve Ferguson stated that the municipality "keeps lobbying the provincial government, because it is a give or take $30 million dollar undertaking" and that they have requested funding assistance from the federal government.

Ferguson also added that Prince Edward County "has done all the ground work, that will be necessary as a prerequisite to applying for funding," and that it will be a multiyear project to rectify.

As well, Mayor Ferguson commented that the municipality will be presenting these issues as top priority at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario annual conference in August.
