The Pontiac Community Players are continuing their tradition of Christmas radio play performances this weekend, with shows at three local churches.

Organizer Greg Graham explained that a radio play is a throwback to the early 1900s, where audiences use their imaginations to visualize the action being narrated by the cast:

This year the group will be performing The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis, a volume in the popular Chronicles of Narnia series of children’s books. Graham explained that the story is an interesting way of explaining complex or difficult topics simply through a child’s adventure story.

Admission to the three performances this weekend is free, but there will be a good will offering taken. The play opens Dec. 10.
