British Columbia's provincial health officer says the federal COVID-19 app is flawed and would not be helpful in managing the pandemic in B.C.. The federal government's COVID-Alert app tells users if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Dr. Bonnie Henry says provincial health officials are in negotiations with their federal counterparts to modify the app.
Henry says the app could be useful to British Columbians who are travelling out of province. The COVID Alert app is currently available in every province except BC and Alberta.
