Barrhaven author Barry Finlay recently released his latest book Just Keep Climbing: Inspirational stories for overcoming challenges and living life and will be speaking at an event in Russell this week.

It is the tenth book Finlay has published and is different than his previous works. He first started writing after climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with his son about ten years ago. He wrote about that experience, then wrote another book about travel, followed by five thrillers and two mysteries.

In his latest work, he told the stories of eight peeople he considered inspirational.

His talk at the Russell branch of the Russell Township Library is titled The Story Behind the Stories and is about where and how he has found inspiration. The event is at 7 p.m. at 1053 Concession St. in the Village of Russell.
