Ohsweken youth arrested after threats made at local school

Six Nations Police arrested a 12-year-old youth on Wednesday at Emily C. General Elementary School for uttering threats and mischief.

Local police confirmed in a March 22 release that they received a threats complaint that came from Emily C. General School. Shortly after, police arrived and arrested the Ohsweken youth.

Police say the youth cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act but are on scene at the school and continuing their investigation.

Emily C. General School is one of the five federal schools administered with Indigenous Services Canada that operate on the Six Nations of the Grand River territory.
