Newfoundland Labrador woman wins Ms. Canada United World 2023

A Newfoundland Labrador woman is the new Ms. Canada United World 2023.

Amanda Kirkpatrick recently won the national title at a pageant in London, Ontario. She returned to Deer Lake last week and is working as a peer counselor. The 35-year-old Ms. Canada worked in retail but said she realized that she really wanted to help people more.

As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Kirkpatrick has since created a non-profit group called SASS (Sexual Abuse Survivors Support). She has also formed a movement called "From Victim to Victor" and is busy uniting victims of sexual trauma across the country.

Kirkpatrick will be off to Texas in September, vying for the title of Ms. United World.
