Five congregations have joined together to offer a prayer hotline service to citizens in the region.
Due to the current pandemic churches and other religious establishments have been forced to close for the past many months. They have relied on zoom gatherings, but want to offer a hotline service for those in need of more help.
“It is actually a service that has been in existence. When I say existence in the sense that prayer has been in existence, so, its always been offered,” explained Samuel Sarpiya, Pastor at Cowansville Connection Baptist Church.
The novelty of this service comes from the collaboration of 5 different congregations in the region. Together they have created a website as well as a phone line that individuals can contact with their prayer requests. Once a prayer request is received all 5 congregations will collectively pray for the individual.
“We actually received our first prayer request today,” said Tony Farrugia, Pastor of Living Hope Centre in Cowansville, with a smile.
All prayer requests are kept anonymous, however, if someone would like a reply it is possible to leave an email or phone number. The congregations also expressed that they like to hear testimonies from the citizens they prayed for.
Prayer requests are accepted from all citizens regardless of faith or what religion they choose to practice.
