The Village of Kaslo will have a new art piece next week.

Nelson resident Tyler Toews of Canadian Murals has been painting a new historical piece on the T.H.E. Pharmacy building for the last two weeks.

The project has been in the works with the Kaslo & Area Chamber of Commerce for two years. It will be replacing the faded Maypole mural that was painted in 2003. The new mural has a celebration theme, depicting aspects of the pre and post colonial eras of the Kaslo area.

Dana Blouin, the chairperson for the Artscape Committee within the Chamber of Commerce, says, "this is part of a multi-year initiative, creating a landscape of art in our community."
