The Harbour Authority of Cortes Island (HACI) will be hosting an Annual General Meeting (AGM) for its members this week and will be selecting a new director.

HACI is a not-for-profit organization tasked with managing four government docks and the Whaletown Dock on Cortes Island. There are several ongoing projects that HACI is involved in, including maintenance of the docks and vehicle parking improvements.

There is one director seat to fill at the AGM on Oct. 20, as long-serving director and current HACI president Bob Katzko will be stepping down. Director seats are nominated and voted on by the membership at the AGM.

Jenny Hartwick, HACI manager, said the current board of directors has been very engaged in her eight years of serving as manager.

“We have a very engaged, wonderful, strong board," Hartwick said. "And several of them have already indicated their willingness to continue on.”
