Sue Baines is an accredited music therapist and instructor at Capilano University where she's been teaching in the Music Therapy program since 1997. Long-time music lover and professional musician, she started to study music therapy because she "wanted to be able to use music for health."

"So I've had a wonderful time studying about how music is helpful to people, but also helpful to cultures, helpful to our society and how we can use music to make things better," she says.

Today on the Pulse, she talks with reporter Gunargie O'Sullivan about the healing power of music and introduces us to the Music Therapy Association of British Columbia and the Canadian Association of Music Therapists.
