A totem pole is being raised to commemorate the women and girls who have gone missing. It is a series of crests from the Kitsumkalum territory where the pole is from — a totem is an aural and traditional history on land.

It's being carved by Mike Dangeli and moved to just outside of Terrace (right alongside the highway on the Kitsumkalum reserve) where it will be raised.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, there cannot be a gathering but the unveiling will be live streamed.

Wanda Good is helping Gladys Radek who has been instrumental in raising awareness on this epidemic and and will not rest until Highway 16 is rid of the mass murder and abduction of Indigenous women and girls.
