As part of the Men’s Shed Association of BC’s (MSABC) outreach program, a meeting was held in Nelson on Wednesday to initiate the process of starting a shed in the city.

The meeting was run by Mike Barradell-Smith of the East Shore Shed in Riondel. Other members of the East Shore Shed joined him to help teach Nelson residents how to start a shed and what they are about.

Despite getting responses to their marketing on Facebook, only two people attended the meeting.

“To be honest, it was a big disappointment. We’ve had a turnout of 15 to 20 in other places we’ve done this," Barradell-Smith said.

MSABC will continue to work on starting a shed in Nelson but will try to connect with more residents before planning their next meeting.
