The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) held their annual Health and Wellness Day on Wednesday at the Community Centre.

Due to COVID-19, this was the first time it was been held in two years.

Acting health Lead and Community Health Nurse Margaret (Maggie) Copeland has been serving the community since 2017. She says the event brings many of the community health services together so that community members can ask questions from health providers. It also serves as a reminder for people who may need to contact their doctor or dentist about scheduling a visit.

Copeland says the event has benefited the community in several ways, such as allowing people to discuss and prepare for palliative care in advance of when it is needed.

In addition to the health services, there were door prizes and a hot supper served on a first come first serve basis.
