The Mayor of the Municipality of Grosse Ile Rose Elmonde Clarke addressed the community today ahead of the holiday season.

The Islands are currently at "Level 2–Early Warning" in the provincial assessment but the region has seen an increase in COVID-19 cases recently.

"We are asking our population to be particularly vigilant for the next few weeks," Clarke said.

She reminds the population of respecting the rules from public health. She asks everyone to wear their masks, respect social distancing measures and to stay home if experiencing symptoms.  She also reminded everyone that gatherings are limited to 10 people coming from only three separate addresses.
