A local mother has created a bilingual children's book  that's almost ready to be shared with the world.

Mansfield resident Bianka Guillemette-Denault explained that she came up with the idea while helping her eight-year-old son Jayce with his homework, and he challenged her to write a story with him. She liked the resulting story, entitled M.A.R.S., so much that she decided to see the project through and self-publish.

The plot follows the adventures of two sets of siblings, based on her two cats and two dogs, and is filled to the brim with whimsical storytelling, featuring robots and unicorns. She said that since her son speaks English and her nieces and nephew speak French, she made sure the book was in both languages.

She anticipates the book will be shipped on July 31.
