At the first MRC Pontiac council of mayors meeting for the term, held at the Bryson Lions Club on Nov. 24, Warden Jane Toller named her pro-warden (or deputy) choosing Mansfield-et-Pontefract Mayor Sandra Armstrong.

The role of the pro-warden is to assume the duties of the warden when Toller is not available. Toller’s previous pro-warden, former Otter Lake Mayor Kim Cartier Villeneuve, did not seek re-election.

Armstrong said that she was proud that Toller had entrusted her with the responsibility and said that she would serve the people of the Pontiac with the same transparency that she brings to her role as mayor.
