What program the Rick Hansen Foundation has in place to determine the accessibility of University Campuses. Hans Egger and Kim Egger, representatives from the Rick Hansen Foundation spoke with CIVL on what they are doing to determine how accessible a university is. Mr. Egger says that utilizing principles of universal design at all campuses will provide equal access for people. He says that the Rick Hansen Foundations has a program in which 2,000 highly trained individuals who have a background in architecture, engineering, or design will rate the building that they are looking at and snapshot the rating for that day. Mr. Egger says that they provide a very in-depth rating survey that is using consistent language.
