The Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery is expanding new programming beyond the regular gallery season this fall.
Kristen Scholfield-Sweet is a local with a PhD in Art Education and has been a board member for the gallery for 20 years. Scholfield-Sweet offered a four-part "Drawing in Nature" course this past fall which sold out. Since the educational opportunity was so well-received, the Schoolhouse is offering another round of courses.
This next course is titled "Painting flowers with watercolour pencils." There are two sets of this course being offered simultaneously. Students have the option of attending classes for the next four Fridays or the next four Saturdays. The courses begin Nov. 18-19. There is possibility that the courses will be video-recorded for others to benefits from the instruction in the future. Though it's just a "pipe-dream" right now, Scholfield-Sweet hopes to develop a video library of art courses for the local community.
To learn more, contact Bianca at schoolhouseartgallery@gmail.com. There is a limit of eight students for each class. Art supplies are not included, so Scholfield-Sweet is encouraging those interested to get signed up and source supplies by this Thursday, Nov. 17.
