Local volunteerism may be rebuilding its vitality as pandemic restrictions loosen. John Vissers, a local environmental activist shared with CIVL how many of his projects have been affected by the pandemic. Mr. Vissers says the two years of COVID have really restricted things that he could be doing in the Fraser Valley and beyond. “A lot of the work we do relies on the support of volunteers,” says Vissers. Vissers habitat restoration projects are only possible due to volunteers participating. With COVID-19 restrictions loosening, Mr. Vissers is ramping up his activities with the organizations he is associated with.
