Lennox and Addington County Council voted in favour of the new 2023-2026 strategic plan this week.
Chief Administrative Officer Brenda Orchard asked for council’s consideration on a new Strategic Plan at the May 24 Lennox and Addington County council meeting.
The four main priorities listed in the plan were strategic capital planning, economic growth and opportunity, safe affordable housing and the environment.
On May 10, a Strategic Planning Session for council was held. Data from the session was then formed into a Strategic Plan narrative document, as well as a Strategic Priorities at a Glance document. Council was asked to review the materials and prepare to discuss the matter.
Orchard noted the next steps beyond council’s approval.
“The departments will go back and go action planning, which we will bring back to you in the July meeting. As well, we will create a more graphically designed strategic planning document that we can circulate.”
The motion to adopt the new strategic plan for the next four years was passed with all councillors voting in favour.
