In Kaslo, B.C., the pandemic inspired an instant response from the small community. At the Food Hub, they noticed a big difference — there have been more donations and more volunteers this year.

Early in the pandemic, the Kaslo Food Hub received an increase in donations from community members concerned about others losing their jobs. During the summer, some brought in food from their gardens and farms.

Patrick Steiner, the food security coordinator, shared how the Food Hub was able to open for an extra day each week for the first time.
