The Pontiac Chamber of Commerce recently announced that they had hired Jessica Forgues for the newly created role of director general within the organization. The newly created position was formed with the help of a $70,000 grant from MRC Pontiac.
Prior to taking this position with the chamber, Forgues worked in a number of businesses in the Pontiac, and most recently as a parliamentary assistant to former Pontiac MP Will Amos.
She said that her role would be to handle the day-to-day operations of the chamber, including hosting events like their business breakfasts and the various training opportunities they provide to members. She explained that since the organization has seen a dip in membership over the course of the pandemic, she would also be focused on recruiting more organizations to the chamber and ensuring they’re aware of all the benefits that they have access to.
