When asked about the situation on Île-du-Grand-Calumet, the MNA for Pontiac, André Fortin, addressed the issue of the most recent events in this municipality, stressing that it was deplorable for citizens to have to endure repeated episodes of this kind. “I put myself in the position of a tax payer, it must be immensely frustrating in recent years” says André Fortin.

Remember that Mayor Serge Newberry will have to appear before the Commission municipale du Québec (CMQ) following events for which he could be in violation under the Act respecting ethics and professional conduct in municipal matters. The events are said to have occurred from the start of his mandate in November 2017, until last June.

An English interview with the MNA for Pontiac, Andre Fortin, will be available Thursday.
